Talkyard — a Reddit alternative

Talkyard reminds of a subreddit (www.reddit.com) — but open-source, with categories, user groups, permissions, etc.

If you want a company internal forum, you'd use Talkyard (you cannot install Reddit on your intranet).

But if you want a community for your customers, where they can ask for help and talk about your products, one idea is to:

  • Create a subreddit, so you can reach out to people who hang out at Reddit.

  • And add Talkyard to your website, and bring your (other) customers and users to there, where you'll get their contact details, and they aren't distracted by Reddit's ads and unrelated subreddits. And a Google or Bing websearch will send people to disussions at your website (instead of to Reddit).
